Our Founder

Kenneth V. Cummins founded Capitol Inquiry in July 1991 after a 19-year career as an award-winning investigative journalist and political columnist. The firm is headquartered in Washington, D.C. but conducts investigations for clients locally, natio

nally, and internationally. Capitol Inquiry has a representative in Panama to serve US clients with investigative needs in Mexico and Central and South America, and to provide services to clients in those regions who need to obtain infor

mation and evidence in this country and elsewhere around the globe. Our highly experienced Panama rep has driven every highway and back-road in Central America. The firm’s network of established, qualified investigators extends globally.

Ken Cummins created the “Loose Lips” politics and humor column for The Washington City Paper, and has written for Washingtonian magazine, Playboy, The New Republic and Reader’s Digest, among other publications. His reporting career includes The Washington Post and the national bureau of the Chicago Tribune. Ken opened and manned the first-ever Washington bureau for the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union, Florida’s oldest newspaper. During the 1980s, he wrote a series of articles exposing cigarette additives and the practices of the tobacco industry.
